OUR BEGINNINGS WERE HUMBLE
Reggio-pacific is the brain child of a passionate teacher + mother, Casey Smith, who started off with a home based network, to test the methods of real world learning. and further developed the blend between the Reggio approach to learning, and children's cultural identity. We believe that to understand a community, it is important to live and grow within that community. Our founder recognized the importance of understanding the children's backgrounds and including this into their learning, but to an extent that the learning and teaching concepts of a culture is explored and used in all our ways of doing.
Casey is passionate about children thriving in their own backyards. This very same passion helped to hand pick the team that will help take it to the next level. Our team are all passionate about children and have strong values of love, honesty + respect which influences their practice with all children, families and staff. When you support us or enrol with us you are part of a family owned childcare centre which means we value people.

Casey grew up in South Auckland and left high school to study Architecture. After being influenced by her Grandmother, she decided to switch her focus to early childhood education. She has a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the AUT University, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Education. Her passion has always focused on contributing to children in her own community, and is prepared to extend this reach to all children. Her goal is to help prepare children for their educational journey by providing a positive early learning environment and experience for each child. She understands the importance of continuous learning, and is always testing theories, ideas and implementing new strategies for improvement.
Casey has three children of her own. She values the importance of giving back to the community. If not found at the centre, you will find her contributing countless hours of voluntary service to church, community projects, local sports teams and mentoring local business owners. |
